Meet Drew Thomas, the insanely talented tattoo artist from the Duneland area of northern Indiana, just a stone's throw from Chicago. His journey to tattooing began in 1996 after a "somewhat misguided decision" to shift his college major from Pre-Med to Philosophy to Studio Art & History. Unemployed after graduation, a friend's suggestion led him to try tattooing, with his first canvas being the woman who would later become his wife.
Now, 27 years and over 10,000 clients later, Drew's versatile artistry thrives in black-and-gray realism, fine detail, and illustrative line work. But, for Drew, it's not so much about his creativity as it is about offering clients a chance to make an emphatic statement—expressing their thoughts, dreams, and memories in whatever style they prefer.
Drew is still married to his muse and the two enjoy savoring the music, breweries, and restaurants of the city and passionately cheering for their favorite soccer team—Nashville SC.
